Connecticut State Police / Contributed Photo NEW HAVEN — A city man who was arrested two years ago for kidnapping a 15-year-old girl has been charged with federal child exploitation offenses for engaging in sexual activity with minors he met online, officials said.  Marcos Alex Mendez Torres, 26, of New Haven, was charged by criminal complaint and appeared in Hartford federal court Thursday, according to a news release from David X. Sullivan, U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut. Article continues below this ad Sullivan said Mendez Torres is accused of using the social media usernames “nozuto” and “demoniodedinero” to communicate with girls online and to coerce his victims into to engage in sexual activity.  He said Mendez Torres began communicating in 2022 with an approximately 11-year-old girl in Pennsylvania over the online game platform Roblox, and used Discord and Snapchat to talk to the girl between 2022 and 2024.  Sullivan said Mendez Torres traveled to Pennsylvania in March 2024 to engage in sexual activity with the teen.
