Aggies Fall to No. 25 UTSA in Series Opener – New Mexico State University Athletics

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State was held in check for most of Friday night’s series opener at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium, falling 10-2 to nationally-ranked UTSA.   The Roadrunners built an early cushion with two unearned runs in the second and a four‑run fourth, then added insurance with runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth.   The Aggies were limited to two hits through eight innings before finally breaking through in the ninth after a brief pause in the game due to a power outage. Noah Massey singled to start the frame, and Jonatan Clough followed with an RBI triple to put NM State on the board. Chris Daniels then added a run‑scoring groundout to make it 10–2, but the comeback ended there.   NM State finished with five hits, including bases knocks from Tommy Meluskey , Bryce Campbell , Dane Woodcook and Clough.
