Bhret Clay to miss 2026-27 women’s basketball season – UTSA Athletics

SAN ANTONIO – On Wednesday, head UTSA women’s basketball coach  Karen Aston announced that sophomore Bhret Clay will miss the 2026-27 season due to an injury suffered in the offseason. Clay transferred to UTSA after a season at Air Force, where she earned Mountain West All-Freshman team honors. She appeared in 34 games with 17 starts, averaging 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds with 22 assists, 34 steals, and seven blocks. A Hobbs High School product and Hobbs, New Mexico, native, Clay propelled the Eagles to a 106-17 record in four seasons, earning a state title as a sophomore with runner-up finishes as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. She broke the school record for career rebounds with 710, also scoring over 1,200 career points and swiping over 250 steals. Clay was a two-time All-State selection, also earning a pair of District MVP nods.
