Don’t be surprised if you hear the oom-pah-pah of polka tunes while visiting Chip’s Clubhouse in Chardon. Although details still have to be worked out, Kouwe, who leads the nationally known Chardon Polka Band and recently purchased the miniature golf establishment, assures folks that “absolutely there will be music there.” Thoughts of buying the business at 214 5th Ave. began when Kouwe and his wife Emily took to the putting course for some fun a few years ago. At the time the couple was expecting twins and decided to replace their usual interests of kayaking and camping with the somewhat less rigorous activity of mini-golf.
