City Council Regular Meeting Agenda – 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 City Clerk Posted on April 16, 2026 The Sanibel City Council will convene a regular meeting at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 21, 2026 Items on the agenda include: Public Hearing for the City Council to hear an appeal of Planning Commission Resolution No. 26-10 which granted approval to allow revision of an approved preliminary plat, to amend allocated impermeable coverage for lots at a residential housing development known as “Coastal Creek” subdivision. Discussion and First Reading of an ordinance that would establish 35 MPH as the maximum speed on Sanibel roads and allow the City Council to change speed limits by Resolution rather than by formal Ordinance amendment. This change will provide greater flexibility while maintaining opportunities for public comment. ​Discussion of proposed speed limit reductions on Periwinkle Way East and West, Rabbit Road, and the segment of Sanibel Captiva Road between Rabbit Road and the western limit of The Sanibel School speed zone.
