Denver Gymnastics Welcomes Fans to Homecoming Open Practice

DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team will host its annual Homecoming Open Practice – with a Halloween twist – on Friday, October 31, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the team’s training facility at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness.   Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served. Fans are invited to wear their Halloween costumes – masks are not permitted – to take part in a costume contest as well.   The event provides fans a first look at the 2025-26 squad, which features seven newcomers in freshmen Megan Aamold , Shyla Bhatia , Sevana Kasparian , Kaitlynd Kastl , Terra Rutter and Abby Steeley , and sophomore transfer Addie Hewitt .   DU also welcomes three new assistant coaches to the staff this year in John Carney , Megan Haught and Mary Rice .   Denver is in the middle of its preseason ahead of the 2026 season, which begins January 11 against Stanford.
