Deputy on leave after allegations he created Facebook page to harass woman he arrested

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office corporal is on administrative leave and under internal investigation after authorities said he created a Facebook page that a woman claims was used to harass and target her following her arrest. Natasha Lopez told Channel 2 Action News she spent months trying to uncover who was behind a series of posts on an anonymous Facebook page that she says repeatedly targeted her, shared personal information about her family and posted AI-generated content about her online. Now, according to the Solicitor General’s Office, the person behind one of those pages was the same Cherokee County deputy who arrested her. Arrest stemmed from dispute over search warrant The controversy traces back to an incident captured on home surveillance video involving Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Charles Mills in August 2025.
