Droves of Tullamore teens sent Snapchat video of violent scene – The Times

Last Friday afternoon, dozens of teenagers in Offaly received a video clip from a friend on Snapchat, the messaging app.It showed the scene of a violent killing: a woman’s body lying in a pool of blood in her kitchen alongside two items that might have been used to kill her. Whoever filmed the scene appeared to be in a state of shock as their hands were shaking.The circulation of the footage prompted calls to the emergency services, who raced to the woman’s home in Rahan, 12km from Tullamore in Co Offaly.Inside they found the body of Lorna Woodnutt, who had been allegedly killed by a mentally ill teenager she knew.
