By Gila Herald Staff DUNCAN — A 25-year-old Duncan man faces serious felony charges after authorities say he sexually abused a girl under the age of 15, whom he targeted through the social media app Snapchat. Jared William Spivey was arrested on Monday, June 1, by the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office following a detailed investigation into allegations of sexual conduct with a minor. Spivey has since been formally charged with two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of transmitting obscene material to a minor. According to a sheriff’s office report, the investigation began on May 13 when law enforcement responded to Fairgrounds Road in Duncan regarding a child molestation call. The victim reported that the abuse occurred between July and August of 2025. The girl explained to authorities that she had been sneaking out of her family’s RV off Old West Highway at night to meet Spivey. On multiple occasions, Spivey picked her up near the Ranch House Restaurant and took her to his residence on McCarty Trail, where the sexual abuse took place.
