Twitter is leaving at least a dozen international offices due to closures or not paying rent. Hubs in Europe and even Twitter’s headquarters in Asia are shuttered. The closures come amid continued cost-cutting, layoffs, and firings under Twitter owner Elon Musk. Elon Musk is closing many of its international Twitter offices as he continues to cut costs and try to find ways the company can make money.At least a dozen international offices are closed or in the process of closing, according to two people familiar with the company and messages seen by Insider, along with several more in the U.S. that are expected to close in the coming weeks. The closures are also expected to result in another few hundred Twitter employees losing their jobs, in addition to the thousands who have already been laid off, fired, or chosen to resign since Musk took over Twitter just over two months ago. Some offices being closed include those in Hong Kong and Philippines, as well as Mexico and Africa, where all Twitter employees were laid off in November, according to the people familiar.
