The merger of OTT video technology builders Accedo One and Magine Pro has been confirmed under a new standalone company called Leyra—the Swedish word for ‘clay’. Accedo, the Swedish TV app developer, retains full ownership of the new venture, and by all accounts is very much leaving Leyra to its own devices, with a separate leadership team, P&L, and budget. Back in December, Faultline pre-emptively pegged the combined entity as possibly the most credible mid-market OTT platform vendor in Europe, roughly on par with Zattoo.
