One French prison inmate is testing that theory, by reworking his prison food into different dishes, sometimes for his fellow inmates to taste. The Local reported on Dany Hellz Kitchen, an anonymous Instagram account from a French inmate who has nearly 30,000 followers. He told AFP on a phone interview that he was behind bars for trafficking illegal substances–something he told Vice was a “fairly serious contraband issue.” He has served seven years so far and Dany is not his real name. Dany has what he calls his own “Hell’s Kitchen” which is a hot plate. He sometimes turns the hot plate upside down and by propping it up with four cans, it becomes an oven. “In the past I had two hot plates meaning I could cook something evenly, sandwich-style,” Dany told AFP, “but they took it away from me so now I have to turn the stove around half-way through to distribute the heat.” As reported by The Local, it provides a way to cope…
