COLUMBIA, SC – The No. 8 South Carolina women’s soccer team (10-2-5, 4-1-4) stayed undefeated at home (6-0-2), picking up a point with a 0-0 draw against Texas A&M (5-6-5, 2-5-2) on Sunday night. HOW IT HAPPENED The Gamecocks were outshot in the first half with just two shots from sophomore Avery Galante and senior Kinley Brown to the Aggies’ five. Coming out of the half, South Carolina was quick to create chances. The Gamecocks took five shots in the first 15 minutes, including one on goal, but could not connect. South Carolina halted the Aggies’ chances, outshooting them nine to four in the second half. They finished taking two more shots than the Aggies, 11-to-9. South Carolina had four corners in the second half after being held to none in the first. Galante and Brown led the team in shots with two apiece. The 0-0 draw was South Carolina’s seventh shutout on the season. Senior keeper Tina Tsaousis had two saves on the night. UP NEXT The Gamecocks stay at home for their last regular-season game against Vanderbilt on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3:00 p.m.
