Investigation continues into clubhouse fire at Lakewood Shores Golf Resort | Crime | iosconews.com

OSCODA – Upon the destruction of the clubhouse at Lakewood Shores Golf Resort, which was consumed by flames in the early morning hours of May 7, ensuing investigations have been carried out by such agencies as the Oscoda Township Fire Department (OTFD) and the Michigan State Police (MSP) Fire Investigation Unit. As reported in last week’s edition of this publication, the OTFD and multiple other departments responded to a structure fire at the resort, which is located at 7751 Cedar Lake Rd. in Oscoda Township. Although the clubhouse was considered a total loss, no first responders or civilians were injured, nor were any other structures impacted. Additional information has since been provided but, as of press time, a cause had yet to be announced. Should more details become available as things continue to develop, updates will be provided in a future edition. As far as what is known at this point, the fire required significant efforts by the OTFD – in not only responding to the large blaze to begin with, but also via subsequent investigations and addressing rekindles, for which they arrived to the scene on at least four different occasions.
