Google and Fox are in a contract dispute over fees that could result in Fox content being removed from YouTube TV. The disagreement centers on how much Google should pay Fox to carry its programming, with each side accusing the other of unreasonable demands. If a deal isn’t reached, several Fox channels, including Fox News, Fox Sports, and local affiliates, could be dropped from YouTube TV. If a deal isn’t reached very soon, Fox content may disappear from YouTube TV. That can be a problem for Floridians who use the video streaming service for their news, entertainment or sports, especially with Alabama vs. Florida State kicking off the 2025 college football season this weekend. On Monday, Aug. 25, Google, YouTube TV’s parent company, announced that its contract with Fox expires on Wednesday, Aug. 27. If the two companies cannot create a new agreement by 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, all Fox programming would become unavailable for YouTube TV subscribers.
