A Stuart woman arrested April 14 involving sex with a minor faces additional charges. The relationship between the woman and a teen boy became flirtatious and sexual from early summer 2024 to fall 2024. She is in the Martin County Jail on $790,000 bond. STUART — A woman in the Martin County Jail since April on charges involving sexual activity with a minor faces additional charges related to possession of child pornography, according to arrest affidavits. On April 14 around 11:30 a.m. a Martin County detective and deputy responded to a call about a potential relationship between a boy and Jessica Liz McGath, 37, of the 1600 block of Southeast Lafayette Street in Stuart, according to the arrest affidavit. When they arrived, the caller spoke of concerns the boy has an emotional attachment to McGath and they had developed a close relationship over years. The person told law enforcement of ‘inappropriate’ messages and images on the boy’s phone via Snapchat. They said this led them to believe McGath had been grooming and manipulating him.
