Kris Bowers Elected to Motion Picture Academy’s Board of Governors – Billboard

Photo by Arturo Holmes/Getty Images Trending on Billboard Kris Bowers, who has received Oscar nominations for both film scoring (The Wild Robot) and documentary short films (A Concerto Is a Conversation and The Last Repair Shop, each in collaboration with Ben Proudfoot; winning for the latter film), has been elected to the board of governors of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He will join composers Lesley Barber and Carter Burwell, who are both midterm, in representing the music branch. The governors will take office at the first scheduled board meeting of the new term.
