Photo by John Mahoney /Montreal Gazette files The Société de transport de Laval (STL) on Monday filed a request with Quebec’s labour tribunal seeking to end pressure tactics by its unionized bus drivers — tactics the transit authority contends are illegal. The STL claims the tactics led to an abnormally high number of late arrivals on Nov. 18, creating a prejudice for its ridership. The transit authority says it recorded slowdowns of service that created 250 delays on various bus routes. A strike day planned by the drivers’ union for Nov. 15 was cancelled, but two other strike days are planned for Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. There will be rush hour and late night service. Contract talks between the STL and the drivers are stalled over salaries, schedules and the future of certain bus routes deemed not to have sufficient demand to be maintained.
