Pensacola was ranked by LinkedIn as one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. in its inaugural “cities on the rise” list. Pensacola has drawn in professionals, homebuyers and manufacturing companies en masse since the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the opportunities that are available in the region as it continues to grow each year. LinkedIn used its own data to form the list and it highlights 25 emerging mid-size cities that have seen significant increases in hiring, job creation and professional migration in recent years. “We were really no different than lots of small-to-mid-size market cities. We allowed our greatest asset − our talented young people − we willingly allowed that to be exploited (by) larger cities. The game has changed now,” said Pensacola Mayor D.C.
