LinkedIn will soon let people add their gender pronouns to the top of their profiles. The professional networking site announced in a blog post Tuesday a number of new features designed to let users “create a more expressive and inclusive profile.” Starting this week, LinkedIn accounts in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Sweden and Ireland will have the option to specify the pronoun that reflects their identity. “For many of us, expressing our authentic self is also about our pronouns,” LinkedIn’s global head of product, Timer Cohen, wrote. “They are core to our identity and how we want to be seen.” The platform, which has 738 million members in 200 countries and regions worldwide, is introducing an optional field at the top of a user’s profile, where people will be able to add their gender pronoun, which will be displayed in parenthesis next to the person’s name.
