LinkedIn has won an important round in its long-running legal fight with hiQ, a company accused of scraping personal profile data from the platform. In LinkedIn’s official account of the court ruling, the company says the court found that its User Agreement clearly prohibits scraping, unauthorized use of scraped data, and fake accounts. The court also found that hiQ knew its actions violated the agreement and allowed LinkedIn to continue pursuing a claim under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
