Hotazhell entered the winner’s enclosure after landing the second Group 1 race of his career: today’s Bayerisches Zuchtrennen (also known, for sponsorship reasons, as the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis) in Munich. This was his first success since he won the Group 1 Futurity Trophy as a two-year-old at Doncaster in 2024 and Jessica Harrington’s four-year-old son of Too Darn Hot ended a losing run of seven starts. Ridden forward by Shane Foley, the four-year-old wasn’t one of the faster horses into stride, taking six seconds to reach 50kmh after the stalls opened, but without any obvious early pace, Foley found himself in front. He held that early advantage down the back straight and was able to save as much ground as possible under a clever, positive ride.
