Mahindra Unveils CNG, Ethanol Flex-Fuel & Electric Tractors at Agrovision 2025 …

Credit: Canva Mahindra & Mahindra, the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, showcased a wide range of alternate fuel tractor technologies at Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur. The event was attended by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, highlighting the Centre’s focus on sustainable farm mechanisation. At the exhibition, Mahindra introduced three future-ready tractor innovations designed to reduce emissions, lower operating costs, and support India’s transition towards cleaner agriculture: CNG/CBG Dual-Fuel Tractor: Based on the Yuvo Tech+ platform, this tractor can run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Compressed Biogas (CBG), and a diesel–CNG dual-fuel mode. The model aims to provide farmers with cost-effective operations while reducing environmental impact. Ethanol Flex Fuel Tractor Engine: Mahindra’s new flex-fuel engine is compatible with ethanol derived from sugarcane, maize, crop residue, and other agricultural waste. The technology supports India’s long-term ethanol blending targets and promises lower emissions with improved economic benefits for farmers. Electric Tractor (OJA Platform): Developed on the global lightweight OJA platform, Mahindra’s electric tractor offers instant torque, smoother performance, reduced running costs, and fast-charging capability.
