Man detained after being accused of gunpoint robbery during Facebook Marketplace sale

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police officers detained a man Thursday they believe robbed a person at gunpoint during a Facebook Marketplace sale. Police say it happened at around 4 p.m. Thursday on Saint Stanislaus Street. Police say a person was trying to buy a motorcycle advertised on Facebook Marketplace, when they were then robbed at gunpoint. Charges are pending for the man detained. Police say the investigation is still active, and more information will be released later. Check back later for updates as News10 learns more. And when the car was reregistered, the DMV notified the lien holder. Deputies say Manlius Police arrested Hernandez for similar activities. They say he was selling cars on Facebook Marketplace at ‘lower-than-normal’ prices. Police said he would then collect payments, meet the victims, show the cars, settle on prices, then sell it without a title or registration.
