Man tracks down teen girl he met on Snapchat, fires shots outside her home, deputies say

Joseph William Danger Woodard (Volusia County Jail booking photo) A Lakeland man was arrested in Volusia County after he allegedly showed up uninvited to a 16-year-old girl’s home and fired multiple gunshots into the ground. On two occasions – Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31 – a man, identified as 27-year-old Joseph William Danger Woodard, allegedly traveled from Lakeland to a residence north of DeLand to meet the teenage victim, whom he had met on Snapchat, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. The victim told investigators that on both occasions, she refused to let Woodard into her home. During the second incident on July 31, the victim advised that she was sleeping when she woke up to the sound of a window rattling. When she looked outside the residence, she reportedly saw Woodard and opened the front door to show that she was “calling for help.” Woodard allegedly put his foot in the doorway, though the victim told investigators she was able to force the door shut. Moments later, the victim stated that Woodard fired multiple gunshots into the ground outside the residence before fleeing from the area in a red Toyota hatchback, according to the sheriff’s office.
