Meaford’s dragon slayers will once again try to court the town’s business big-wigs in the hopes of injecting cash into their start-ups and expansion plans.This year’s Meaford Chamber of Commerce Meaford Dragons production is going virtual on Dec. 2 via Vimeo on Demand.Modelled after the popular CBC television show Dragon’s Den, the Meaford spin-off is in its 12th year of production. Meaford Dragons has helped kick-start more than 55 new businesses and expansions during its run and provided over $230,000 in cash funding and prizes since 2009.The show is normally a live event at Meaford Hall, but this year the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench into those plans.The same format is being followed for 2020, and the show will once again be hosted by comedian Andrew Chapman, however, viewers will now be asked to watch the show from their own home and online.The show will be available through Vimeo on Demand at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2.
