Meta announces new parental supervision tools for VR, Instagram – Detroit Free Press

Social media giant Meta has added new tools and resources for parents to monitor their children’s online experience using virtual reality and Instagram, according to a company news release. These tools include the ability to monitor the apps a teen uses on their virtual reality headset, receive notifications if their child reports bullying on social media, and new Instagram “nudges” to manage social media use. Meta developed these new updates after taking input from teens, parents, experts, and policymakers. It’s the latest move by social media companies to better manage the impact of social media on teens.
