MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A Moorhead man faces a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge after authorities say he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl at a Moorhead residence earlier this month. Monte Alexander Diedrick, 22, was charged April 13 in Clay County District Court with one felony count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Monte Alexander Diedrick (KVLY) What Happened According to a criminal complaint filed in Clay County District Court, the alleged assault occurred in the early morning hours of April 5, 2026, at a residence on 4th Avenue South in Moorhead. Court documents say Diedrick met the victim, a 13-year-old girl, and two other individuals at the residence around midnight. Prosecutors allege Diedrick brought alcohol and later sexually assaulted the victim. A witness reported the incident to a school resource officer on April 8.
