Niche ranks Troy University as Alabama’s best online college and 20th in nation

Troy University has been recognized as Alabama’s “Best Online College” and among the top online colleges nationally in Niche’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings. Nationally, TROY ranked as the 20th Best Online College in America. “This recognition is the reflection of the work of our dedicated faculty and staff and is a testament to TROY’s position as a leading institution for online education,” said Dr. Kerry Palmer, Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “Troy University is committed to growing the value of our degrees and offering academic programs rooted in excellence for all of our students, whether they study with us in-class or at a distance.” Offering its first online course in 1997, Troy University has long been considered a pioneer in online higher education.
