UCLA SPACE Institute UCLA College September 17, 2026 The UCLA SPACE Institute invites you to “The Rush to the Moon. 60 Years Later.” — a celebration of Earth’s nearest celestial neighbor. Held Thursday, Oct. 15, from 5:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the UCLA Collaboratory (Young Hall 4222), the event will include a panel discussion and Q&A featuring UCLA professor David Paige in conversation with Nerma Caluk of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Manny Shar from Astrolab. UCLA graduate student Jaahnavee Venkatraman will moderate. Sponsored in part by Bruin alumni Michael Thacher and Rhonda Rundle, the event will explore the scientific and technological motivations and challenges behind humanity’s return to the moon.
