U.S. News Published: Jan. 08, 2026, 11:53 p.m. LISBON, Ohio — An eastern Ohio police officer has been suspended after he was accused of having inappropriate online conversations with a minor. WFMJ Channel 21 reports officer Shawn Reynolds, 34, was suspended at the end of December by the Lisbon Police Department for gross inefficiency, gross incompetency, immoral conduct, neglect of duty and conduct unbecoming of an officer. Reynolds has not been criminally charged, but Lisbon Police Chief Mike Abraham said the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force is investigating, The Morning Journal reports. An adult female contacted the police department on Dec. 28 and accused Reynolds of having conversations with a juvenile female on Snapchat, The Morning Journal reports. Reynolds reportedly sent a friend request to the girl. Police say the conversations between Reynolds and the female were “sexual in nature.” He also contacted the girl while on duty, police say.
