A 22-year-old Putnam County man faces felony charges after authorities said they searched his home and found him with child sexual abuse material. Leiva, 22, was arrested on Sunday, June 7, before a search of his home, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday, June 12. The investigation leading to Leiva’s arrest began on May 7, when the Sheriff’s Office said it received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the distribution of suspected child sexual abuse material over Snapchat. Investigators later identified Leiva as the suspect. On the day of his arrest, he was taken into custody at around 8 p.m. just before investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at his home. During this operation, they seized multiple electronic devices, the Sheriff’s Office said. Leiva was later charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17 and two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
