Tabitha Melissa Paganelli, 27, allegedly scammed someone over Facebook for the order of crochet animals. According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, on May 23, 2023, a citizen reported to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office that she had been the victim of a Facebook Scam where she had placed an order for crochet animals, but the order had not been fulfilled in full as promised. The victim attempted to resolve the issue with the suspect but all communications were cut.During the investigation, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit were able to determine the suspect’s true identity. On September 8, 2023, warrants were obtained for 27-year-old Tabitha Melissa Paganelli, charging her with the felony of Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Detectives continued to search regarding her true whereabouts.On October 7, 2023, detectives learned that Paganelli was residing in Youngsville, NC.
