It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. A PRESTONPANS man has been caught sending sexual messages to a person he believed to be an underage child. Ryan Magee made contact with who he thought was a child called Liv on the Snapchat app and began sending her the messages. But the 20-year-old was in fact in contact with an undercover police officer who had set up the profile in a bid to catch online child sex predators. Magee was traced to his home on the town’s North Grange Road and subsequently arrested and charged. He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month, where he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of sending sexual written communications to a person he believed to be a child aged between 13 and 16 on December 13 last year.
