The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week on air and online. Plans to build a 4,710-square-foot clubhouse, a 5,000-square foot cart barn and paved parking area are back on the agenda of the Haverhill Conservation Commission for a formal public hearing this Thursday. Members will consider conditions to place on Newton-based Sterling Golf Management for its Crystal Lake Golf Club at 890 N. Broadway. As WHAV previously reported, commissioners first approved an order of conditions for 50 single-family homes and golf course improvements in 2009. The Commission is responsible for overseeing wetlands, storm water management and erosion issues. In its plan, the developer says, “Although the overall golf course layout has evolved from the 2009 approval, the proposed improvements remain generally consistent with the previously developed clubhouse footprint area.” Abutter Stephen Galinsky, 950 N. Broadway, submitted a letter last March to commissioners, raising several issues regarding drainage.
