Kansas Health Alert Network (KS-HAN) Posted on September 15, 2026 On Sept. 2, 2026, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) released immunization recommendations for the 2026-2027 respiratory season. The recommendations provide immunization guidance for children, adults, pregnant and immunocompromised patients, and healthcare professionals. The American Medical Association (AMA) has launched a resource page that consolidates influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID-19 immunization recommendations in one location.  The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) continues to recommend that Kansas clinicians rely on clinical training and professional judgement and follow the respiratory immunization schedules and guidance published by the AAP, AAFP, ACOG, and IDSA, which provide health professionals and Kansas families with accurate, credible, and transparent information.
