Sept. 8, 2026, 4:47 a.m. ET Massachusetts residents who entered the Annual Low Number Plate Lottery can watch the drawing live at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, as the Registry of Motor Vehicles selects winners for hundreds of sought-after license plates. The event will be streamed on Vimeo through the RMV website, according to a community announcement. More than 16,000 eligible residents entered the lottery for a chance to receive one of 237 available standard white passenger plates featuring low-number combinations. Among the available plates are numbers and letter-number combinations including 318, 7575, 8J, 66K, V3 and L99. Winners and alternate winners will be chosen electronically using a random number generator, according to the announcement. Registrar of Motor Vehicles Colleen Ogilvie will host the broadcast, and interim Secretary of Transportation and MBTA General Manager Phil Eng is scheduled to offer opening remarks.
