SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s basketball team announced on Friday the summer addition of a high school post player for the 2026-27 roster, with Mike Broxton Jr. joining the Roadrunners in summer training heading into the third season under head coach Austin Claunch. Broxton is the eighth offseason signing announced by the Roadrunners and the first frontcourt player to join UTSA this summer. “Mike is an exciting young big man with tremendous upside and the physical tools to make a major impact in our program,” Claunch said. “He brings great size, athleticism and toughness, while playing with a relentless motor every time he steps on the floor. Mike is a mobile post player who runs the floor, finishes above the rim and gives us a strong presence in the paint. We believe he has the potential to develop into an elite rim protector and shot blocker, and we’re excited to help him continue expanding his offensive game.
