Ryan Williams has a lot in store for his sophomore season at Alabama. As a 17-year-old freshman a year ago, Williams was one of the most exciting players in college football. He routinely made highlight-reel plays that defied the laws of physics. His fourth-quarter touchdown catch and run against Georgia will be immortalized in Crimson Tide lore forever. Williams got off to a record-breaking start last season. His first two catches in Alabama’s season-opening win over Western Kentucky went for touchdowns. He caught six touchdown passes in Alabama’s first five games and averaged 108.8 yards per game. Williams’ production took a decline from there, which coincided with widespread offensive struggles for Alabama. He averaged just over 40 yards per game over the season’s final eight games, eclipsing 70 receiving yards in only one of those contests, and never again surpassing the 100-yard mark.
