OGDEN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A sex offender living in Ogden is accused of using Snapchat to groom underage teenagers online to send him sexually explicit images because he was “bored.” John Reese Elkins, 32, has been charged with 31 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony, and three counts of enticing a minor, two of which are second-degree felonies and one of which is a third-degree felony. According to court documents, on May 5, agents with Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) brought Elkins in for an interview about a potential parole violation. The agents had received a cyber tip about Elkins allegedly sexually exploiting a 16-year-old girl through social media, including having video calls with her while she was in the shower.
