The rape is said to have taken place near Crompton War Memorial A woman who claims she was raped near the Crompton War Memorial by a man she had met that day told her friend about it on Snapchat afterwards, a court has heard. Ryan Horsfall is on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of the rape and two other sexual acts on a girl who was 15 at the time in April 2018. The jury has already heard from the girl in question, now 18, when her police interview was played and she was later cross examined in court. She said she had met Horsfall earlier that day, they had been heading home through the war memorial when he stood on her foot, swung her round and began kissing her. The girl said she told him repeatedly she “had to go” but he continued and the incident culminated in them having sex when she did not want to in a nearby alleyway. But the jury has also seen Horsfall’s police interview, when the 22-year-old claimed the encounter was consensual and the girl “did not say no” and he did not undo any buttons of her clothing. And…
