This is because Vimeo has recently disclosed a data breach, which unfortunately resulted in personal information belonging to 119,000 people being exposed. Vimeo confirms recent data breach For those unfamiliar, back in April, Vimeo confirmed it was a victim of a data breach. It wasn’t the result of hackers breaching its systems, but rather the systems of Anodot, a data anomaly detection company. However, as a result of that breach, personal data belonging to 119,000 people were stolen. According to Have I Been Pwned, it seems that this was the work of hacking group ShinyHunters. If the name sounds familiar, it is because the group has been behind a spate of hacks in recent months. This includes Rockstar Games, which suffered a breach via a third-party provider. A company called Aura, which sells data theft protection, was also another victim.
