Snapchat has been criticised for a facial filter on its service that has been described as “triggering” and “deeply disturbing” for domestic abuse survivors. A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Teresa Parker drew attention to this filter on the app. The example of the filter being used showed a woman’s face with bruises and an almost closed-up eye.
