Taylor Wimpey wants to build 307 new houses, with between one and five bedrooms, on part of the land currently occupied by Helensburgh Golf Club in the north-east of the town. One quarter of the houses – 78 in total – will be ‘affordable’, for social rent by Dunbritton Housing Association. The company’s proposals also include new holes for the golf club, replacing the ones on which it plans to build houses, as well as new golfing facilities and a new clubhouse to replace the existing building, which is earmarked for demolition. Plan held the last of its public consultation events via Zoom on Friday, and has now published details of its proposals online following an initial consultation in February.
