STATESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – Two teenagers allegedly held a victim at gunpoint during an Iredell County hotel robbery on Wednesday. According to police, 19-year-old Steven Potts, along with another unnamed juvenile, were charged with armed robbery, second-degree kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Potts was jailed and is being held without bond, while the other teenager was taken to the Alexander County Juvenile Detention Center under a secure custody order. Police said someone at the hotel was robbed at gunpoint of money and other personal items. The suspects, later identified as Potts and a teenager, reportedly ran to the woods nearby. Officers said K-9s tracked and found Potts, leading to his arrest. The second suspect was found a short time later near the intersection of East Broad Street and Safriet Road.
