Tigers Punch Ticket To The NCAA Tournament – Colorado College Athletics

Colorado College Athletics Sport Navigation Menu For the 13th time in program history, the No. 15 Colorado College women’s lacrosse team is heading to the big dance.    After winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and tying a program record 18 wins, the Tigers are back in the NCAA Tournament. They will face Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday, May 11th at noon PST. Both CC and P-P have first-round byes and will square off in the second round in Claremont, Calif.    This will be the second matchup of the year between the two squads as the Tigers defeated the then-No. 9 Sagehens earlier this year on March 20, 13-8, in one of the highest-ranked wins in program history.    CC is 13-12 all-time in the tournament and will look to make another run after last year’s trip to the Sweet 16. Two wins against Aurora and Chicago propelled the Tigers to the third round before ultimately falling to the eventual national champion, Middlebury.    This will be head coach Susan “Stuey” Stuart’s final run in the tournament after the CC and women’s lacrosse legend announced her retirement before the start of the season.
