The Amazon-owned streaming site posted a tribute to U.S. service members on November 11, highlighting veteran streamers. However, the gesture backfired when users reminded everyone about Twitch’s past handling of streamer Morgan “Frogan,” whose remarks about soldiers wishing them PTSD went viral in 2024. The post, which read “We’re saluting our service members on Twitch,” quickly gained over 2 million views but also thousands of critical replies. A community note soon appeared beneath it, linking Twitch’s tribute to Frogan’s controversial comments and accusing the company of double standards.
