Twitch has issued nearly 300 bans in 2021. ASSOCIATED PRESS This year, Twitch is primed to average over three million concurrent viewers, clocking two billion hours of content watched each month. However, this increase in users has put more pressure than ever on Twitch’s moderation team, which has found itself doling out an unprecedented number of account bans since the start of 2021. New research carried out by esports bookmaker Unikrn has found that at least 270 Twitch partners have been given bans–both temporary and permanent–in just the first two months of this year. Overall, Twitch has issued 321 individual bans since New Year’s Day; January was a busier month (173) than the shorter February (148). According to statistics gathered via tracking service StreamerBans, 22 partners have registered multiple account violations in 2021. Leading the pack with an incredible six individual bans is Ukrainian Dota 2 caster Vladislav “KVYZEE” Kovalchuk, who has been expelled from the platform for periods of time ranging from mere minutes to full days.
