The 27-year-old embarked on a 3,000-mile faith walk from Philadelphia to California in March 2026 to raise $200,000 to fund initiatives like HMBL University and a summer camp aimed at helping underprivileged youth. On the 34th day of his journey, Thomas was struck by a vehicle during a live broadcast while traveling through Indiana. Authorities reported that he was walking along a highway while a supporter followed him in a Mazda. Another driver rear-ended that vehicle, causing it to hit Thomas, sending him airborne. The 82-year-old driver who rear-ended the Mazda and their minor passenger were both hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries, The Christian Post reported.
