This brought our attention back to another social media company which has been on our radar for a while, and after last week’s publication, we’ve decided to write our first article on Twitter (TWTR). In case any of our readers need reminding, Twitter is an online news and social networking service where users post and or interact with short messages known as tweets. The company was founded in 2006 in San Francisco. During the last 12 months, we have been following Twitter’s fall from grace, a subsequent drop in share price, driven by a litigation charge which destroyed earnings in their Q3 publication, and eventual departure of charismatic CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey. Twitter has always struggled compared to some of it’s peers to achieve significant ARPU (average revenue per user), despite the “importance” of the network compared to other social networks, after all Twitter is the network of choice for politicians and celebrities alike with many using the platform to make official announcements – let us also not forget…
